"Thank you for supporting the village in these difficult days of war in Israel, for the sake of the little children who are now growing up in the village."                  -Ana (at the village for 12 years)

Welcome to Michael's Mission!

Help Us Create a Brighter Future

for the children in Karmiel Misgav, Israel

Thank you for your interest in my cause. My name have been working with this village since I was three years old, but began working on helping the village when I was 16 years old, a rising Junior in High School. My mission then was to raise $10,000 for The Children's Village in Karmiel - the sister city of Pittsburgh in northern Israel.

My connection to this village dates back to my early childhood, and the children of Karmiel have had a profound impact on my life. While our circumstances have always been different, I know that our dreams have always been the same - to be happy, healthy and safe. They are not living that dream. And now, their situation is even more dire.

I am embarking on a project - and doing my part, to make life better in the Village - and to keep hope and dreams alive in the hearts of the children there.

Please join me on the journey! Your donation of any amount will make a difference.

The Impact of the War

The children's village of Karmiel is in the north of Israel. During the day, explosions, rockets, and alarms sound all day long, causing enormous anxiety for the children. The village staff are doing their best to maintain a routine for the children.

Following the fall of missiles in the Druze village of Khorfish, all the children and staff of Khorfish were evacuated and moved to the children's village of Karmiel. Now, the two villages have one. Village expenses are increasing, along with the need to purchase emergency equipment, protection, and costs related to preparations for the expansion of the war in the north. Some of the children landed in Karmiel from Khorfish without their parents who are still in the fighting zone or perished.

With these complexities, the Village must keep operating - and also consider a future and plan for what's needed in post-war times. Their primary focus will be to help the children gain strength and heal from the trauma. They intend to build a center where these children and their families can receive emotional support and professional mental health treatment from social workers, psychologists, and therapists.

I want to help the children of this Village now and help build Karmiel Misgav's future. I hope you will consider supporting me in this worthy cause. Contact me if you'd like more information! (412-789-3118), and I invite you to check back to see the progress I'm making towards my fundraising goal.

Thank you very much!
